Welcome to Berggasthof Häusler in San Lorenzo

Berggasthof Häusler is situated at 1,365 metres in Elle, above San Lorenzo di Sebato in Val Pusteria. Run by the Oberhammer family, the former farm was converted into a mountain inn in 1981 and later expanded with guest rooms. Today, the accommodation combines traditional elements with comfortable rooms furnished using natural materials; the newer Superior rooms feature solid local larch furniture. The elevated position provides extensive views towards Brunico, Plan de Corones, the Rieserferner mountains and the Dolomites.

Regional cuisine & traditional dining rooms

The restaurant focuses on regional and seasonal ingredients, combining South Tyrolean specialities with Mediterranean influences. Homemade dishes range from savoury regional classics to cakes, apple strudel and Kaiserschmarrn, while the sun terrace provides an outdoor dining area with views across Val Pusteria. Two distinctive dining rooms form part of the inn: a Zirmstube and a historic Bauernstube dating from 1878.

Hiking from the doorstep & at Plan de Corones

Several hiking possibilities begin directly around the property. Routes lead towards Astjoch/Burgstall, Rodenecker Alm and Lüsner Alm, with mountain huts such as Walder Alm, Rastnerhütte, Kreuzwiesenalm and Starkenfeldhütte accessible on foot. In winter, the Plan de Corones ski area is around 13.7 km away, while Corvara and the Sellaronda can also be reached by road. San Lorenzo di Sebato lies 9.5 km away and Brunico approximately 12 km from the mountain inn.

We returned to this hotel, a true gem at 1,350 meters, surrounded by nature and with breathtaking views. You can enjoy infinite tranquility that regenerates you. An excellent starting point for excursions with numerous trails, very convenient and spacious parking, and well-connected by bus. A family-run hotel, you immediately feel at home. The staff is extremely kind and always attentive to your needs. The cuisine is traditional and varied, the buffet is excellent, with first courses, second courses, and desserts prepared with great care. The breakfast is plentiful, both savory and sweet. The rooms are always tidy and clean, as are the common areas with balconies overlooking the wonderful valley. Highly recommended hotel.

We had a wonderful 10-day stay at the Berggasthof Häusler with our four children and our dog. The friendliness, warmth, and service were consistently top-notch. We will miss the rustic parlor and the modern dining room with its stunning view. The food was delicious and varied, and our request for a gluten-free breakfast and dinner every day exceeded our expectations. Thank you so much for the wonderful time! We'd love to come back.
